NORTH CAROLINA -- Both Charlotte and Raleigh recently ranked among Forbes Magazine's "Best Cities for Jobs in 2018."

The rankings were determined by whether or not job growth is slowing or accelerating as well as short, medium and long term job creation numbers since 2006.

Charlotte came in at number five on the list, while Raleigh came in at the number seven spot.

Overall, the highest spots on the list tended to favor cities either in the South or on the West Coast.

While the largely Southern-based cities flourished across a wide range of industries, West Coast cities tended to be more focused on the tech industry and high-end business.
