CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Robocalls are reaching record annoyance.

According to robocall blocking service YouMail, there were 3.15 billion robocalls in March.

That’s 1,178 robocalls per second, the most since YouMail started recording the stat.

“You can say, ‘well I’m on the do not call list’. They don’t care,” Tom Bartholomy of the Better Business Bureau said. “If they’re calling from India, what do they care about the do not call list? They’re not going to get fined.”

YouMail says telemarketing calls are up 19 percent, scam calls are up 13 percent, and payment reminders are up 7 percent.
