Polly Rogers, 20, is the student who fell out of the party bus.

Police say she was headed to a bar when she fell out of the emergency window. They say Rogers fell into the road and was hit by two cars.

Officials say the party bus left UNCC and was headed toward Uptown when this tragic incident happened.

Police say speed was not a factor; however, a medical examiner says Rogers had been drinking.

A toxicology report showed that Rogers had a blood alcohol content of .19, 11 points over the legal limit for a legal adult.

Just days before final exams, police say it’s heartbreaking a young girl lost her life.

“A 20-year-old woman, attending one of our local schools, and by all accounts, [was] just out to have a good time with some friends. We have some really skilled investigators that are working on the case. I’m sure that’s no consolation to the parents of Polly. [It's] just heartbreaking,” said CMPD Public Affairs Director Rob Tufano.

As of right now, it's unclear if charges will be filed in this case.

However, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police have issued citations to the Victor Rabb, the owner of the bus.

Police say the vehicle was uninsured and displaying a fictitious license plate.

The sorority that Polly was a member of, Zeta Tau Alpha, released the following statement on Facebook:
