LAKE WYLIE, S.C. -- It has been confirmed that a tornado touched down in the Lake Wylie area on Sunday.

The tornado affected only a small part of the neighborhood, with straight line winds causing most of the damage.

Now, many people are going through the renovation and clean-up process.

One woman we spoke with says she was home Sunday when the storm hit. She said it was worse than anything she expected.

 “It was a different kind of wind. I’ve never been in the middle of anything like this. And you just felt like there was so much hail, that it was going to knock all the windows out. The windows were making terrible noises. It was just something I had never heard before, and was extremely loud,” said Nancy Dove.

Officials don’t know the exact strength of the tornado yet and say they more surveying to do before they know just how strong this storm was.
