ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. -- Job seekers are hoping to put on their hard hats to have their hand in a huge project, stretching over 600 miles from West Virginia to North Carolina.
The Atlantic Coast Pipeline is bringing more than 4,000 jobs to the Tar Heel State later this spring.
Tuesday they hosted two job fairs in the Sandhills, looking for construction workers, equipment operators, welders, and inspectors -- just to name a few.
They're also accepting applications from those who don't have experience in this line of work.
"The local trade unions are offering free training and apprenticeship programs for anyone who wants to learn a new skill or trade, go to work on this project for two years, and then use that as a stepping stone to build a whole new career in the construction industry," said Atlantic Coast Pipeline spokesperson Aaron Ruby.
The jobs range in pay from $25 to more than $50 dollars an hour and include benefits.
