The average high in the Raleigh area for Wednesday is 71. We'll fall below average again Wednesday, but above average highs are likely for the rest of the week.

Look for a mix of clouds and sun through Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 60s. Temperatures will drop back to the 40s late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.

Mostly sunny days are then in the forecast from Thursday through Saturday. Thursday's highs will top out in the mid 70s. The upper 70s to low 80s are forecast for Friday and the weekend.

While the first half of the weekend looks great, we will have to closely watch the forecast for the end of the weekend. Low pressure tracking toward the Carolinas Sunday could produce severe storms in the region from Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night.
