CHARLOTTE -- Another batch of quirky signs have been added across Charlotte, encouraging passersby to have a little fun while outside.
"Last spring we put up 12 signs," said Assistant to the City Manager Sarah Hazel. "We saw people interacting with them and taking pictures. We knew we had to do another round."
At First Ward Park, you can take a gander at the sky. Dance moves are encouraged along North Davidson Street.
"Being able to do stuff like, the running man or the YMCA, silly things like that. It’s going to build morale for not only yourself but people watching and encourage them do something physical as well," said Charlotte resident Angela Bell.
The Center for Active Design stated positive signs can promote city pride. So the relatively small budget project has a big impact on resident morale.
"They give people encouragement," said fellow resident Colleen Gebhardt. "I’m a generally happy human so I love to see things like that at times when things aren’t so great."
Perhaps most impressive about the signs is they've attracted attention from cities all across the U.S.
Hazel explained, "Some folks on Instagram were like 'We got to get one in Anchorage, Alaska! How can we do that?'"
Hazel said Charlotte is putting together a package so other places, or individual neighborhoods, can boogie and exercise alongside the Queen City.
