A Forest Hills playground gets a forest-inspired makeover.

Officials cut the ribbon on the newly improved Joseph DeVoy Playground Tuesday afternoon.

The one point four five million dollar upgrade features wheelchair- accessible play structures inspired by trees and jungles.

There is also a new tire swing, replica steel drums made of plastic and additional seating.

"As you go through this piece of play equipment, it actually winds up and gets higher and higher and comes back down again, you feel like you're in  a treehouse,' Queens Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski said.

"It really fits in with the community. The colors fit in with the forest that's behind it. We have a new water fountain here for the folks that are running," Queens Borough President Melinda Katz said.

The community asked the Parks Department to keep existing animal sculptures and wooden climbing logs.
