GEDDES, N.Y. -- For many, traveling across the country in an RV or camper is just a dream. Thursday, some are looking to make that dream a reality as the 47th annual RV and Camping Show gets underway at the New York State Fairgrounds.

There are four buildings at the show that are filled with campers, travel trailers and RVs from nine dealers. This show is known as the largest indoor RV and Camping Show in New York state and is a great opportunity to talk to experts about new features.

Many of these vehicles are equipped with the most modern amenities. On one of the featured travel trailers, people can use a cell phone to control just about anything, including the fireplace and the lighting.

Experts also say as gas prices continue to remain low, traveling across the country in one of these units can be very affordable.

"It turns out to be a lot cheaper, paying a monthly payment on a camper or a motor home, then it would be to pay for hotels, and food, and every place you go, you know paying for it. When you can bring your own with you, have home cooked meals in your own coach, that you're home," said Fred Donath, a technician at Seven O's RV Way.

This show is also a great option for those wanting to just wanting explore and see what these travel trailers have to offer.
