UNION COUNTY, N.C. - A routine morning turned tragic for a family.
A 46-year-old woman in Union County was hit and killed Thursday morning at her child's bus stop.
It happened on State Line Road in Marshville just about a mile from the South Carolina line.
The state highway patrol says the accident happened at around 6:45 a.m.
The victim, Hannah Gosney, had just watched her son get on the school bus.
Her car was parked in the gravel driveway.
Troopers say the students were settled, the bus driver had pulled the stop arm up and began moving, but then the kids were being disruptive and she stopped the bus after going about 10 feet.
That's when Gosney walked across the road to the bus to ask what was going on.
Troopers said the driver will not be charged.
It's a 55 mile an hour speed limit here but she was going about 45 and again, the school bus didn't have the stop arm down.
