CHARLOTTE -- Community continues coming together after the shooting death of Keith Scott by CMPD officer, Brentley Vinson.
On Wednesday-- a group of poets, artists and community members gathered for a candlelight vigil honoring both Keith Scott and Justin Carr, a demonstrator killed last week during the protest.
These artists say they're hopeful events like this one will help inspire hope and unity.
"Just because I didn't know them, I don't feel for them, I want them to understand that we all feel whats happening in this community and we thought it was important to step out and show we're here for you,” said Josh Smalls, Charlotte poet.
Justin Carr's was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon. Murray's Mortuary in Charleston will handle the arrangements for Keith Scott.
