GREENSBORO -- Traditional dance, costumes, arts & crafts, as well as food were all on hand at the 39th annual Guilford Native American Association Pow Wow in Greensboro yesterday.
Every year, the event brings together members of all the recognized tribes of North Narolina and across the southeast.
This year's Pow Wow was dedicated to the event's founder, Ruth Locklear Revels, who died in March.
She was the association's director and a member of the Lumbee Tribe.
She started the Pow Wow as part of her mission to preserve and share her native culture.
More than 122,000 Native Americans across North Carolina make up the largest indigenous population in the eastern US.
