ULSTER, N.Y. -- The town of Ulster Public Library is teaming with Ulster police to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement.
The library hosted Coffee with a Cop where local people were invited to come in and chat about anything they want with an officer.
The library's director says its important to provide these type of opportunities and they hope to reach out to additional city agencies in the future.
"We'd like to make community conversations a regular event at the town of Ulster library," said Tracy Priest, Ulster library director. "We've been grateful to have the town of Ulster police here twice now and we'd like to follow up with the fire chief, library and different members of the community."
The officer on hand wasn't just there for adults, he also participated in story time with the kids.
