CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC. -- An Autryville teen will spend the next two decades behind bars after killing his then 15-year-old girlfriend.

Je'michael Malloy pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the 2014 death of Danielle Locklear, and he will spend the next 25 to 31 years in prison for the crime.

Locklear's family members addressed her killer in court, and Malloy offered the family an apology for his actions.

"It did mean something, but you know, I'm sorry. He's still breathing. My daughter's in the grave. So, that's the way I look at it," said Rowna Fowler, Locklear's mother.

Another teen, Dominic Lock, is also serving time in for helping Malloy dispose of Locklear's body.

Officials say Malloy and Lock were not eligible for the death penalty because they were under 18 at the time of the murder.
