A company that creates crystal clear lagoons is working with a developer on a project in Charlotte and Asheville.

Yes, the picture looks like it's straight out of the Caribbean.  A company called Crystal Lagoons with US operations based out of Florida, is now working with developers to add this water feature to new home developments.

The company developed the technology nearly two decades ago and built it's first ocean front lagoon in Chile.   Now, it's expanding to a number of areas, including North Carolina.

"We now have over 50 projects in Chile which is a cold weather climate not to dissimilar to North Carolina in that sense," said Uri Man, USA CEO of Crystal Lagoon. "It looks like we'll be able to announce one to two projects with developers in the next 60 days"

Man would not tell us specifically where the developments might be.  It costs around $250,000 per acre to build a lagoon.  The average look is 8-10 acres.

We'll have more on the lagoon coming to Charlotte as soon as it's announced.
