CONCORD -- Concord fire officials say a broken pipe is to blame for an emergency at a Perdue Farms plant.

Forty-one firefighters were called to the plant at 862 Harris St. just after 11 on Monday night.

A pipe that supplies oil to heat exchangers in an oven had ruptured and caused the oil to vaporize and fill the plant with smoke. Firefighters sealed the leak and removed the smoke.

No one was hurt.

The plant will be shut down on Tuesday to repair the pipe.
