CHARLOTTE-- The burning of black churches across the south, some of which were intentionally set, led Osama Idlibi to support a cause that's raising money to rebuild some of those churches.

It's this fundraiser, started by a group of Muslims, their goal? $50,000 by July 18.

Charlotte "In a time when people are vulnerable, people are being attacked for other people to step up and to support and to show love and to show care, is beautiful," said Osama Idlibi, the President of Muslim American Society of Charlotte

The initial goal was $10,000 but the group surpassed it, just 12 hours after the website launche last week.

"Isn't it incredible what we can do as a community when we come together," said Idlibi.

Brothers, Mo and Osama Idlibi, feel the fundraiser is more than just about rebuilding churches like Briar Creek Road Baptist in Charlotte.

They say it's about love.

"Irrespective of what race, religion, national origin, or any other characteristic you may have, we're all equal. We're all one community, and we always have to have each other's back," said Mo Idlibby, a community servant.

Both donated to the cause and plan to continue to help any way they can.
