GASTONIA -- Gaston County police say an altercation between four people earlier in the day led to a deadly shooting late Thursday night at a home on Wilmot Trail.
According to authorities, the victim, Robert Putnam, and his wife, Cecilia, went to the home of James Haney and Linda Salazar. They say Haney shot Putnam, who was armed with a handgun.
At this point, no charges have been filed. The investigation continues and the district attorney's office is being consulted on the case.
