DURHAM, N.C. -- They're the men and women behind songs we love to sing, dream and dance to. And for one special night, they’re joining on stage together for a unique show.
Accomplished songwriter and collaborator, Jeff Outlaw, sat down with Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair for a preview of Nashville Songwriters at DPAC.
The upcoming show features music performed by the writers of songs like “Different For Girls” sung by Dierks Bentley, “Sangria” recorded by Blake Shelton, “The Climb” sung by Miley Cirus, and “Any Ol’ Barstool” recorded by Jason Aldean. But in addition to the great songs and performances, the show will benefit three area non-profits:
- Kidznotes: A youth orchestra, band, and choir program that uses music to encourage children to succeed
- The North Carolina Boys Academy: Christian boarding school for teenage boys
- Voyager Academy Friends of the Arts: Aims to increase support for visual and performing arts at the Academy
Nashville Songwriters at DPAC takes place on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Tickets and more information can be found on the DPAC’s website.
