ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The commission on Racial and Structural Equity updated the community on its efforts these past three months to study racial inequities in the Rochester area.

The group is designed to develop policies and legislation to address structural and institutional racism.

Members of the commission say community engagement has been a challenge during the pandemic.

"Other groups are thinking about how they can effectively reach out. And the purpose of these community engagements is to really vent the priorities that they have tentatively identified to ensure that we are in sync with what these community views around these issues. And to also identify where we might need to do more work," said Bill Johnson, RASE Commission co-chair.

RASE has until February 10 to report back to the community.
