RALEIGH, N.C. – We're nearing the peak of hurricane season with September being the most active month of the year for these types of storms. 

North Carolina, and other parts of the country, have felt the impact of Mother Nature leaving homes and lives ripped apart. 

Despite the global coronavirus pandemic, the American Red Cross' work continues. Spectrum News 1 anchor Caroline Blair went in depth with the president and CEO of the American Red Cross, Gail McGovern, to discuss recent storms, the impact they’ve had on states like North Carolina, and how the nonprofit is handling serving those in crisis during a pandemic.
