ST. LOUIS—There has been a big outpouring of support following Friday’s EF-3 tornado. Here are the ways you can help to the recovery efforts. St. Louis City has created a Tornado Recovery site with information for victims and those that want to help.

Relief Funds:

Tornado Relief Fund: St. Louis city has set up a fund where people can make a monetary donation. The funds support the City of St. Louis' efforts to provide immediate relief and long-term rebuilding of areas impacted by the May 16, 2025 tornado. 

Urban League Disaster Relief: It is collecting donations to help families recover and rebuild. The money provides emergency aid, food, shelter and hope. 

Supplies Needed:

The city’s efforts are focusing on storm prep and property preservation. The following items are needed:

• Tarps

• 2x4 lumber

• 4x8 sheets of plywood or boards

• Wood screws

• Work gloves

• Masks

• Urban League (Kingshighway location)

• 4144 Martin Luther King Drive (serving The Ville neighborhood)

Volunteering

Volunteers: St. Louis City says it is putting a volunteer infrastructure in place, but in the meantime, you can assist by finding a hard hit neighborhoods by moving debris into large, organized piles at the edge of the property. Keep house debris separate from Tree debris. Bricks should also be piled separately.

United Way 211: You can find sign up to volunteer and learn how to donate to support those affected. 

Utility Assistance: Cooldown St. Louis can help provide utility assistance to those in need.

Action St. Louis: It is getting volunteers together to help in the hard hit areas. You can fill out an intake form to lear more.
