ST. LOUIS—A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was struck by a bullet that came from outside his home, that is according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. 

It happened on the 5700 block of Goodfellow Place around 11:00 p.m. Monday. 

Police are encouraging anyone with information to call the North Patrol Division or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS with information. 

SLMPD spokesperson Mitch McCoy said during an afternoon briefing, “No family should have to endure such pain,” adding especially when the victims are innocent.  

Earlier in the day, he posted on social media that this is a “horrible act of violence that has no place in our community. We will not tolerate it.”
