ST. LOUIS—While authorities continue their investigation into how stray gunfire struck and ultimately killed a St. Louis area teenager, the local hockey community continues to come together to remember one of its own.

Colin Brown, the CBC hockey player who passed away Nov. 27 from his injuries sustained in a Nov. 23 shooting, will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Saturday when the St. Louis Blues host the Philadelphia Flyers at 6 p.m. at Enterprise Center.

Police say Brown, 16, was a passenger in a car heading north on I-55 around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he was shot by a stray bullet. He was on his way home from a CBC varsity hockey game, which the team played in Affton that night.

Brown, a CBC junior, passed away on Wednesday. Blues coaches wore pins in Brown’s memory Wednesday night. The team plans to donate proceeds from the franchise’s 50/50 raffle on Saturday to Brown’s family.

Late Friday afternoon, CBC said Brown's Cadet teammates would return to the ice for a game against De Smet in Affton. The school's game against Kirkwood on Wednesday was postponed.

CBC plans to remember Brown with an all-school mass on Monday, for students and staff only.
