ST. LOUIS — More than a dozen local retailers sold recalled eclipse glasses.
It appears the recalled glasses being sold are the wrong designation type except those sold on Amazon, according to a Facebook post by Hyperlocal Extreme Weather.
Spectrum News has confirmed the recalls of the below locations on their Facebook pages.
1. Fink’s ALPS in Union, Missouri
2. B&H Market in Pacific, Missouri
3. K & R Market in Marthasville, Missouri
4. Country Mart in St. Clair, Missouri
5. Mace Supermarket in Cuba, Missouri
6. Save A Lot in Ste Genevieve, Missouri
7. Save A Lot in St. Clair, Missouri
8. Highland’s Tru-Buy in Highland, Illinois
9. Sinclair Foods In Jerseyville, Illinois
10. Midtowne Market in St. Charles, Missouri
11. Amazon - You should get a notification if the ones you bought were recalled. (Some of these recalled also included the correct number.)
12. Karsch’s Village Market in Barnhart
13. Karsch’s Village Market in Hillsboro, Missouri
Eclipse glasses certified as safe by the International Organization for Standardization are labeled “ISO 12312-2:2015.” And there are trusted manufacturers, some of which the AAS has included on its list of approved solar viewers.
The Save A Lot in St.Clair posted a picture on Facebook showing what was being recalled. Glasses marked 12312-1 are not safe, according to Hyperlocal Extreme Weather.
