ST. LOUIS—There are some weekend road and ramp closures drivers may encounter in downtown St. Louis and in south St. Louis County.
MoDOT will close eastbound I-44 in downtown between Washington Ave and the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge for work on the Broadway Bridge.
The closure is to remove construction scaffolding and install drainage on the bridge over the interstate.
Crews will close all lanes starting Friday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. with lanes open my Sunday morning.
To detour around the closure, drivers can exit at Lumiere Place Boulevard (Exit 292), stay straight at the signal to get onto Lumiere Place. Follow Lumiere Place until it becomes North Broadway. Follow North Broadway to North Market, turn left on North Market and turn right on North 10th Street to get back on westbound I-70.
Drivers traveling near the I-270/I-44 interchange may want to allow extra time or find an alternate route this weekend.
MoDOT is closing some ramps and lanes in the area for ongoing, preventative bridge maintenance.
The ramp from westbound I-44 to southbound I-270 starting on Friday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. The ramp to northbound I-270 will remain open. Ramps will reopen Monday, August 14 by 5 a.m.
The ramp from southbound I-270 to westbound I-44 and two lanes on southbound I-270 near the exit will close Friday Aug.11 at 8 p.m. The ramp from southbound to eastbound will remain open. Ramps will reopen Monday, August 14 by 5 a.m.
To detour around the westbound to southbound ramp closure, drivers can continue westbound on I-44 and take the ramp to North Highway Drive (Exit 275), cross the interstate at Mraz, follow South Highway Drive to eastbound I-44 and take the exit (Exit 276) for southbound I-270.
To detour around the closure for southbound to westbound, drivers can continue on southbound I-270 to Route 30 (Gravois Road/Exit 3), cross over the interstate and continue northbound to get to westbound I-44.
