ST. LOUIS – A man has been charged for causing a crash that killed four people and injured four others at Grand and Forest Park Parkway this weekend.
Cedric Dixon, 34, has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and several counts of second-degree assault.
Police say he was driving a Chevy Impala that ran a red light on Grand Avenue and smashed into an SUV, sending it off a bridge and onto Forest Park Parkway.
The probable cause statement reports Dixon removed the license plate from his car and left the scene without providing any personal information. It goes on to say two security guards for St. Louis University were able to identify him after having contact with him at the scene.
Four people in the SUV died and four others were injured. A memorial was held at the scene this afternoon to remember the victims.
The four victims are:
Bryanna Johnson, 18, Vinita Park
Anthony Robinson, 19, Jennings
Contrail McKinley, 20, St. Louis
Richard Boyd, 19, St. Louis
Investigators reviewed cameras of the incident but Spectrum News is still learning how police caught the suspect.
The four survivors were taken to area hospitals. No word on their latest condition.
