ST. LOUIS — Anheuser-Busch will not be the only St. Louis-based company with Super Bowl ads this Sunday as Purina Pro Plan teamed up with PetSmart for a commercial.

The new campaign celebrates active dogs who “bring out the athlete in all of us,” according to an online press release.

“Who better than Pro Plan and PetSmart to shine a light on the incredible dogs who are often the true athletes in the family,” said Eric Willis, chief marketing officer at Purina.

“Pro Plan is proud to fuel dogs to perform at their best and conquer some of life’s biggest adventures with their favorite people every day of the year.”

The 30-second advertisement will air in five markets, including Miami, Nashville, Phoenix, San Diego, and St. Louis where Purina’s headquarters are based. Viewers also can stream it on YouTube and Fox.com.

“Ensuring pets and pet parents alike have the perfect products they need for adventure and to stay active together is one of the many ‘anythings’ we’ll do for pets,” said Will Smith, PetSmart senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

“We show up in big ways and across the full customer journey with our Anything for Pets promise, and our work with Purina Pro Plan on this ad is a testament to the heights we’ll climb to bring pets and people closer together.”

Pro Plan will have another big announcement coming soon, according to the press release.
