ST. LOUIS, Mo.- Area civic and educational leaders on Thursday unveiled plans for a geospatial research institute which would bring together resources from multiple educational outlets into a single research facility known as the Taylor Geospatial Institute.
Saint Louis University, the University of Missouri, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Missouri S&T, Washington University, Harris-Stowe State University, and the University of Illinois will all contribute to the new project, funded through what was described as a “legacy investment” by Andy Taylor, Executive Chairman of Enterprise Holdings.
The move comes as construction continues on the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s new western headquarters in North St. Louis, with the expectation of being move-in ready in 2025.
