Periods of heavy rain and potential flooding continue across eastern parts of Hawaii to kick off the week. Trade winds remain the dominant wind pattern, so the heaviest rainfall totals from passing showers will focus along windward areas.

  • Flood Watches are in effect through late Monday

  • Rainfall totals will be highest for windward areas

  • Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for Big Island peaks

Flood Watches are in effect for Maui and the Big Island through late Monday night. 

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall will be possible, especially for flood prone roads and other low-lying areas.

Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are under Winter Storm Warning until Monday evening, with snowfall accumulations of 6 inches possible today.
