HONOLULU — There are just five days remaining for all Hawaii residents to help create the strategic plan for the 10-campus UH System. The University of Hawaii is asking the public to lend their voices, experience and aloha to the process.

The short community survey is available until midnight July 22 and takes less than five minutes to complete. It’s a critical component in continuing to develop the UH Strategic Plan 2023-2029 initiative.

The survey follows a prior survey of current UH students, faculty, staff and administrators, and several virtual town halls. The UH Strategic Plan 2023-2029 initiative with the July 22 deadline, builds upon the UH Third Decade Report, the UH Strategic Directions 2015-2021 and UH post-pandemic plans, which focused on what Hawaii needs most from its public higher education system going forward, according to a UH release.

Input from the community will be integrated into the first draft of the UH Strategic Plan 2023-2029. The draft is expected in Sept. 2022, when the community will again be invited to provide comments and suggestions. In November, the final draft is expected to go to the UH Board of Regents for approval. At that time, there will be another opportunity for public input.

SMS Research and Marketing Services Inc. is administering the survey.
