Cal State LA was the team that ended CUH’s season in the West Region final last season. The Golden Eagles (19-10) defeated Seattle Pacific in four sets Thursday.
"We’re looking forward to the redemption match against Cal State LA tomorrow," Kabalis Hoke messaged Spectrum News. "Last year's loss has left a sour taste in our mouths that we’ve been talking about all year long. This is our opportunity to avenge that loss and we’re fired up about it.
"Today’s match was a great start to the tournament, hitting for a high efficiency," she added. "We served well, and blocked well, all skills we hope to implement and improve on tomorrow."
CUH outblocked SF State 8-1 and had a 6-1 advantage in aces, while hitting .337 as a team to the Gators’ .198. Izzy Issak led SF State with nine kills.
