Allisen Corpuz maintained her standing, a tie for second place, on Day 3 of the Dana Open at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.
But Swedish golfer Linn Grant seized upon a day that was interrupted by rain, carding a 9-under 62 to lead the field by six strokes at 18 under entering Sunday.
The newly minted U.S. Women’s Open champion Corpuz, who broke through last week for her first LPGA victory, and four others are tied for second at 12 under.
The Punahou School alumna from Kapolei sputtered to begin her third round, with bogeys on Nos. 5 and 7 to go to 1 over on the day. She turned things around from there, however, carding birdies on Nos. 8, 9, 12 and 13 to complete a 3-under round.
But that was not nearly enough to stave off Grant, who began the day tied with Corpuz for second. Grant had a chance to become the second LPGA player to ever break 60 when she got to 9 under through 13 holes, but she played even from there.
Annie Park, who seized the second-round lead, shot even par on Saturday to fall to seven shots back.
Tied with Corpuz going into the final day are Maria Fassi, Matilda Castren, Stephanie Kyriacou and Emily Kristine Pedersen.
