Four Hawaii football games have been picked up on national television for the upcoming 2023 season.

They include all three of the Rainbow Warriors’ matchups with Power Five conference opponents. They are the season opener at Vanderbilt (Aug. 26, SEC Network), the home opener against Stanford (Sept. 1, CBS Sports Network), and games at Oregon (Sept. 16, Pac-12 Network) and at home against San Diego State (Oct. 14, CBSSN).

The count of national TV games matched the total from Timmy Chang’s first year as head coach in 2022. Only one game, the opener against Vanderbilt, was televised at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex last year compared to two in the upcoming season.

The Vanderbilt and Oregon road games will kick off at 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Hawaii time, respectively. Stanford and SDSU will kick off at 5 p.m. at home.

The final six games on the schedule: at New Mexico (Oct. 21); San Jose State (Oct. 28); at Nevada (Nov. 4); Air Force (Nov. 11); at Wyoming (Nov. 18); and Colorado State (Nov. 25); were not picked up nationally. Nor were nonconference home games against Albany (Sept. 9) and New Mexico State (Sept. 23) and UH’s Mountain West Conference opener at UNLV (Sept. 30).

Spectrum Sports pay-per-view broadcasts of the remaining games on the schedule will be announced in the coming months.

FOX will televise the MWC championship game on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. Hawaii time. The 2023 season is the first in the MWC’s division-less format with 12 teams.
