The Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America announced Thursday Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants voted to ratify a contract extension through February 2028.

An 88% vote ratified the extension, which includes a 12% raise spread over three years and other enhancements. Voting began on March 31 and ended on Thursday.

“This contract extension provides Hawaiian Flight Attendants with certainty and guaranteed economic and work rule improvements as we work towards our joint contract,” said Joni Kashiwai, negotiations chair for AFA-Hawaiian, which represents the carrier’s approximately 2,200 flight attendants.

We deeply value the role our flight attendants have in the success of our company, and this contract extension positions us well for the future of our combined airlines.”

Alaska Airlines flight attendants ratified a new contract last month. With the new Hawaiian Airlines extension, the amenable dates for both contracts are aligned. Anticipating ratification of the Hawaiian Airlines extension, negotiations began last month for a new joint collective bargaining contract for the combined 9,200 flight attendants at both airlines.

Alaska Airlines acquired Hawaiian Airlines in 2023 for a reported $1.9 billion. The merger was completed last September.
