The Hawaii State Department of Education’s newly redesigned website marks its first major update in over a decade.
Developed in partnership with Honolulu-based Stacey Leong Design, the website aims to enhance accessibility, improve navigation and better serve its users.
Key features of the new website include intuitive navigation; seamless viewing across different devices; ensures all users, regardless of ability, can access essential information; includes comprehensive resources for parents such as enrollment procedures, academic programs and support services; offers interactive tools such as school locators and an events calendar; and includes a redesigned news page with the latest department announcements and “bright spot” features.
"Our goal was to create a website that is welcoming, easy to navigate, and reflective of our commitment to serving Hawaii’s families," said Superintendent Keith Hayashi in a release. "This update ensures that families can access important resources quickly and that the site meets modern accessibility standards."
The project was awarded through the state’s procurement process and shaped by user feedback from key stakeholder groups.
