The National Weather Service on Tuesday morning extended the High Surf Warning for north- and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau through 6 p.m. Thursday.
The High Surf Warning issued by the National Weather Service starting Jan. 4 for Kauai and Niihau has been extended to 6 a.m. Jan. 8, according to Kauai County.
The islands’ north- and west-facing shores will continue to experience “significant and dangerous warning level surf” that could cause serious injury or death. Beachgoers are advised to use extreme caution while standing along the shoreline as large waves can quickly break on shore.
