The Honolulu Police Department announced via a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the man who was the subject of an hours-long barricade situation at the Don Quijote Honolulu store has surrendered. He has been taken into custody.
Earlier, the Honolulu Police Department and Honolulu Fire Department responded to a barricade situation at the Don Quijote Honolulu store located at 801 Kaheka St. According to a KITV report, a man locked himself in a stock room just after 5 p.m. Wednesday and threatened to set the room, which contains liquor, on fire. HPD confirmed that the store has been evacuated.
There were no reported street closures due to this incident.
