Voter service centers will remain open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday for in-person voting, same day voter registration, and collection of voted ballots.

Ballot drop boxes statewide will also remain open until 7 p.m. Ballots must be received — not postmarked — by 7 p.m. on Tuesday to be counted.

Voters who are in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to remain in line to vote at a voter service center or drop off a mail ballot at a ballot drop box. Officials will mark the end of lines at 7 p.m. and those who leave the line will not be permitted to rejoin.

Individuals who have voted in Hawaii before do not need to provide identification when voting at a voter service center.

First-time voters who registered by mail and did not provide a copy of identification when registering must show identification to vote.

Acceptable forms include:

  • Current and valid photo identification
  • Copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government-issued document that shows the voter’s name and address

Individuals who are unable to provide identification will be allowed to vote using a provisional ballot. In such cases, acceptable identification must be provided to the appropriate county Elections Division office within two days after the election for the ballot to be counted.
