The Hawaii Island Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate an individual suspected of conducting a series of fraudulent credit card transactions that took place at various retail stores on the morning of August 16.

On that day, a report came in to police about a credit card lost at a big-box store in Hilo followed by the victim receiving fraud alerts from the bank regarding purchases at multiple stores in Kailua-Kona.

Police combed through video surveillance footage from different stores, matching them to the times of the reported purchases.

A person linked to one or more of the transactions captured on video is shown wearing a green-colored t-shirt, dark-colored shorts, dark sunglasses and a light-colored visor.
