LIHUE, Hawaii — The Kauai Police Activities League invites the public to the grand opening of its new facilities at the Philippine Cultural Center (4475f Nuhou Street) in Lihue on Oct. 24.

The grand opening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. will feature a blessing and offers attendees a first glimpse of the newly renovated boxing and wrestling gym, an opportunity to meet K-PAL’s coaches and become familiar with the variety of programs designed to empower youths.

Committed to fostering positive youth development through sports, mentorship and educational initiatives, K-PAL partners with schools, businesses and community organizations to shape capable and confident youths. In 2023, over 1,100 youths participated in K-PAL’s flag football, boxing, jiu jitsu and wrestling programs, according to a release.
