HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction announced streets in Kakaako will be periodically closed for repairs, starting on Monday, Aug. 19.

Construction work will last for about three months, occurring Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except on holidays.

The project will include the reconstruction of asphalt roads, striping and sign installation. The Department of Design and Construction said the work will improve driving conditions, roadway visibility and safety.

The contractor will perform construction work in phases, which will reduce impacts to traffic, according to a news release.
