HONOLULU — The Hawaii Department of Health Food and Drug Branch alerts residents to a recall by Prophet Premium Blends of its Diamond Shruumz brand of infused cones, chocolate bars and gummies because of potentially toxic levels of Muscimol.

What You Need To Know

  • The products were sold online direct to consumers in Hawaii and were available at local smoke/vape shops

  • Most of the stores on the list received product samples and did not sell them to the public, however, there were stores that have sold the products over the past year

  • As of July 28, 2024, a total of 78 illnesses have been reported from 28 states, two of which may be associated with deaths and are being investigated

  • There have been no reports of illness or adverse events attributed to the products in Hawaii

Muscimol is a chemical found in mushrooms of the genus Amanita.

The products were sold online direct to consumers in Hawaii and were available at local smoke/vape shops. See the list of stores that received the recalled products.

Most of the stores on the list received product samples and did not sell them to the public, however, there were stores that have sold the products over the past year.

People who became ill after consuming the products reported a range of severe symptoms such as seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea and vomiting.

The DOH recommends individuals call their health care provider if they experience any of the symptoms and/or call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222. Inform them that you have consumed the Diamond Shruumz products.

There have been no reports of illness or adverse events attributed to the products in Hawaii, according the DOH. However, as of July 28, 2024, a total of 78 illnesses have been reported from 28 states, two of which may be associated with deaths and are being investigated.
