HONOLULU — On Friday, the Department of Health issued a green “open” placard to Red Lobster in Waikiki during a follow-up inspection found all violations resolved.

On Wednesday, DOH had issued a red "closed" placard to the seafood restaurant after an inspector observed sewage backup between the kitchen entrance and dining area during a routine inspection, according to a news release.

DOH advised the food establishment on Friday to continue regular monitoring and maintenance to prevent another sewage backup.

The DOH Food Safety Branch conducts routine health inspections of food establishments where food is prepared, manufactured, distributed or sold in order to protect the health of Hawaii residents and visitors.
