HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction advise the public of rock slide mitigation work along Koko Drive in Kaimuki, which will begin on June 10 and last four months.
The work will include rock scaling, installing rock anchors, and applying shotcrete, which is concrete sprayed onto the cliffside, as part of a preventative maintenance program to address potential rock slide hazards and public safety.
The Department of Design and Construction will take significant steps to minimize disruption during the rock slide mitigation work.
The work hours have been set from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays.
When needed, a single-lane traffic contraflow may be implemented on Koko Drive between 3908 Koko Drive and Paula Drive.
Area motorists and pedestrians are asked to expect delays, observe posted signs, and use caution in the area.
Contact the Department of Design and Construction at 808-768-8400 with any questions or comments.
