KAHULUI, Hawaii — The Maui County Department of Agriculture invites nonprofit and for-profit organizations in the agriculture sector and qualified groups to apply for grants through 4:30 p.m. June 30.

Grants will be awarded in these categories: agriculture operations, infrastructure, education, recovery, livestock, non-food agriculture, Lanai agriculture and Molokai agriculture, according to a news release.

Interested individuals can fill out an online application or request an application be mailed to you by calling 808-270-8276 or emailing aggrants@co.maui.hi.us.

General requirements :

  • Must be a profit organization incorporated or an LLC under the laws of the State of Hawaii or a nonprofit organization determined to be exempt from federal income tax by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • In the case of a nonprofit organization, have a governing board whose members have no material conflict of interest and serve without compensation.
  • Have bylaws or policies that describe how business is conducted. Such bylaws or policies should include provisions relating to nepotism and management of potential conflict-of-interest situations.
  • Be licensed and accredited in accordance with applicable requirements of federal, state and county governments as necessary.

Per the Department of Agriculture, applications must be hand-delivered to the County Department of Agriculture at 2154 Kaohu St. in Wailuku no later than 4:30 p.m. June or postmarked no later than June 30 and mailed to Maui County Department of Agriculture Grants Section at 200 South High St., Wailuku, HI 96793.

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
