HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services and Honolulu Complete Streets will release the draft of the Oahu Vision Zero Action Plan for public review on June 12 with a final public meeting scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom on the same day to gather input.

On average, one person dies every week in a traffic crash on Oahu streets, according to a news release.

The Oahu Vision Zero Action Plan addresses this persistent issue with the goal to achieve safe streets with zero traffic fatalities or serious injuries on Oahu by 2040. The plan includes actions ranging from improvements at high-injury locations to lowering speed limits to more education and enforcement.

The public is encouraged to view the Oahu Vision Zero Action Plan and share your thoughts, personal experiences and feedback on the proposed strategies and actions by registering for the virtual Zoom meeting.
