“Moana 2” will sail into theaters Nov. 27, according to a Disney announcement Wednesday. The story takes place three years after the original movie and involves Moana and Maui taking on another seafaring adventure with an unlikely crew of characters.
This time, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania after she receives an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors. The journey is dangerous and Moana takes on adventures through long-lost waters unlike anything she’s ever faced. Watch the teaser trailer here:
Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprised their roles as Moana and the demigod Maui. The stars took to social media to announce the new trailer.
"Moana 2" is directed by David Derrick, Jr., Jason hand and Dana Ledoux Miller and is produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino. It features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear and Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
