HONOLULU — The University of Hawaii of Manoa sent out a traffic advisory ahead of commencement ceremonies that will be held on the campus on Saturday.
According to the news release, vehicles may be backed up on H-1 Freeway near the university in both directions before the ceremony. Traffic will be heavy after the ceremonies end on Dole Street, University Avenue and other roads leading from campus.
For those who can't make it in person, the ceremonies will also be available via webcast from the Mānoa Commencement page. More than 2,000 candidates for bachelor’s, master’s and doctorates are registered to participate in the ceremonies.
The University of Hawaii released its schedule for 2024 graduations, which will occur across 10 campuses.
The commencements will be held between May 4 and May 11, according to a news release.
The celebrations include the first commencement for UH Maui College since the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires.
Molokai is also hosting a commencement ceremony for residents who earned a certificate or degree from the University of Hawaii between fall 2021 and spring 2024. This celebration is held once every four years.
