KAILUA, Hawaii — The rock slide mitigation project along Mokulua Drive at the beginning of Lanikai has been completed, the city and county of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction said.
The project included rock removal, slope scaling and clearing vegetation.
City crews completed work earlier than expected on Monday.
With the project now complete, Lanikai street parking restrictions have been lifted.
According to city officials, the project reduced the chance of rockslides, accidents, property damage and disruptions to traffic flow.
